Any values higher than 4.0 is probably already pretty different. Any score below 1.0 indicates a high probability that the pictures are also very similar. When pictures are identical, the score is zero. When PixCompare compares two pictures, a difference score value is calculated, based on various aspects of the picture. Depending on your specific pictures, you can try to improve the results by tweaking some of the settings. These false-positives cannot be avoided due to the nature of a fast search.
